Roberto Guedes
Professor at Minas Gerais Federal University

Prof. Roberto Guedes holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG (1992), a master's degree in Veterinary Medicine / Veterinary Pathology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1995) and a PhD in Veterinary PathoBiology / Track of Infectious Diseases - University of Minnesota (2002). Post-doctorate in the proliferative enteropathy laboratory at the University of Minnesota (2003). Visiting professor at the Danish Technical University, in Copenhagen (2008-2009).  He is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He was sub-coordinator and coordinator of the graduate program in Veterinary Science at the UFMG Veterinary School from 2010 to 2016. He was head of the Veterinary Clinic and Surgery department from 2016 to 2018, and deputy director of the UFMG Veterinary School from 2018 to 2022. Experience in the area of ​​Animal Anatomy and Pathology, working mainly on pig diseases. Leader of NEPS (Swine Farming Extension and Research Center), a research group. Line of research in the area of ​​swine diseases, particularly in enteropathogens Lawsonia intracellularis (epidemiology, pathogenesis and diagnosis) and Brachyspira hyodysenteriae (epidemiology and diagnosis).
